HAIGH & HASTINGS Australian Special Air Service Regiment M2 DIVER

By TLex Australian watch companies are few and far between, here's an interesting new one from Perth in Western Australia called Haigh & Hastings, who are offering dive watches that are designed to be just at home on the wrists of adventurers, divers and long-boarders as they are in the boardroom or indeed on the wrists of the elite special forces!

They are to supply a limited number of 1000 pieces of their mechanical M2 Diver, designed to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Australian, Special Air Service Regiment (SASR). Divers features of the M2 Diver include: a uni-directional, rotational bezel with a blue inlay and dive-time scale and a water-resistance of 300 meters.

Its case is in solid 316L Stainless steel measuring 44mm x 13mm x 53mm. It is fitted with a Sapphire crystal, a 7mm screwdown crown and a 40mm caseback. The caseback features an engraving of the SAS Regiment's iconic winged dagger insignia and 'Who Dares Wins' motto along with 'Special Air Service 50th Anniversary 1964 - 2014' text.

Its black dial is with Superluminova applied hour and minute indexes as well as a prominent white sword minute hand and a black hour hand. There's nothing on the dial to say that it's an Australian SAS Regiment special edition watch. However it does have a quirky depth-rating text that reads '1000feet/ 300m Down Under' - some Aussie humor!

It is powered by a Seiko NH35A automatic mechanical movement with a bi-directional winding rotor, a manual winding feature, sweep second hand, date display, a quick date setting and a beat-rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. The movement is hacking.

The watch comes on a black 22mm natural European rubber divers strap, which is non-allergenic, saltwater, UV and odor resistant. It comes with a Stainless steel locking divers clasp. All Haigh & Hastings timepieces come with a 5 Year 'Smash Guarantee' as well as free worldwide shipping. They cost between 525 and 545AUD. Follow the link embedded below for more . . .
