Montres Charmex has announced a new collaboration with Ahmed Gabr, an ex Egyptian Military officer and former member of the Egyptian Special Forces (the Egyptian Rangers) and a graduate of the United States Army Combat Diver Course.
On the 18th of September 2014, in the inky depths of the Red Sea, off the coast of Dahab, South Sinai, Egypt, Ahmed hopes to break the current 318.25m World Record for scuba diving, held by South African, Nuno Gomes with his own dive to 350 meters - setting a new Guinness World Record!
He will be equipped with CX Swiss Military Watch's flagship model, launched in 2009, the 20’000 FEET, which won the world record for water resistance for automatic diving watches with a Guinness World Record of its own and an approved depth rating of 20’000 feet or 6’000 meters (ISO 6425). The CX 20'000 Feet is back in stock. You can read my review of it HERE.
Wishing Ahmed the very best of luck with his dive!
From all of us at CHARMEX NORTH AMERICA, we wish Mr. Ahmed Gabr a successful and, most importantly, safe dive, and good luck in his brave attempt to break the world record! We are truly honored that he will be equipped with our world record 20'000 FEET dive chronograph watch. All the best on September 18th!
