Doxa SUB 300 CARBON

This is the new Doxa Sub 300 Carbon; it could well be the first carbon constructed Swiss made diver’s watch that you own or at least seriously consider. Unless of course that is, you’re a baller and had some early carbon action when forged carbon watches first appeared with the likes of the AP ROO Diver Carbon, LW’s Oktopus or Hubot’s Oceanographic. Maybe you’re a Panerai CARBOTECH kinda’ guy. Whatever it is, there’s a recurring theme here – carbon watches are notoriously expensive but finally one has come along that won’t break the bank plus it's a bonafide diver’s watch with heritage and pedigree, Doxa’s Sub 300 Carbon. Perhaps you already have one the Limited Edition Sub 300 Carbon Aqualung US DIVERS that came out last year which btw the way, are still available to order for 4’790CHF – I don’t think Doxa really understands the term ‘limited edition”. And now this the new Doxa Sub 300 Carbon, which aside from its dial is the exact same one from last year only it is available in Doxa’s famous skittles-like variety of colors and is priced 3’790CHF. Meet the new Sub 300 Carbon with its forged carbon case that wraps around a Titanium inner case there to ensure its 300 meters of water-resistance. Rather than going full-carbon like its predecessor of last year, it doesn’t come equipped with a forged carbon dial which means that it is available in 6 colors along with the choice of a black rubber diver’s strap or one that is color-coded to its dial. Spec. otherwise remains as any Sub 300 so that’s a case diameter of 42.5mm housing an automatic three-hand movement with the prestigious COSC Certified Chronometer certification.

Thoughts? It would be remiss of me not to mention that, a certain German purveyor of high-quality diver’s watches also has a FULL-CARBON model – that is truly full-carbon because it comes with the option of a full carbon link bracelet, the first of its kind. It is also very reasonably priced.
