H. MOSER & CIE. Pioneer Centre Seconds ROTATING BEZEL C.02 for COLLECTIVE HOROLOGY

While man cannot live on diver’s watches alone; there are some of us that simply cannot get by without a rotating bezel; whether it’s a simple case of OCD where you can’t get through the day without that satisfying feeling you get from turning your bezel; perhaps you just feel watches look better that way or God forbid you actually use a bezel for timing sh!t. Here’s a watch that started out life without a bezel from the Schaffhausen-based, H. Moser & Cie. an incredible watchmaker that I have been trying to work into a conversation here for a while and finally, I found an in with this – the Pioneer Centre Seconds Rotating Bezel C.02 For COLLECTIVE HOROLOGY. If you haven’t come across H. Moser & Cie before in your online watch rambling, they are a brand that I really have no business discussing with models like their new 39’000CHF Streamliner Flyback Chronograph (pictured at the bottom of the article) that have me starting to question my very existence on this planet, but I thought you might like ‘em too. Back to the watch at hand, the C.02 which is the product of a year’s worth of partnership representing the missing link between H. Moser’s two sports watch lines – the Pioneer and the Streamliner. Designed to be a daily wearer, the C.02 is based around the Pioneer case and is powered by H. Moser’s in-house HMC200 caliber. The case has been modified to fit a bi-directional, 60-click, 12 hour bezel to allow for tracking two time zones and a box crystal has been fitted to the case to ensure a shorter height. The dial – a degradé green griffé dial borrowed the color from the Pioneer line while the dial treatment from the Streamliner line gives an effect of so-called “Collective Green”. In direct sunlight, the green dial shines bright; in lower lighting it fades into a dark olive. The indices on the dial are based on the Pioneer dial but cut from three-dimensional Globolight luminous material. The handset continues on the theme of 3-dimensionality with its Globolight inserts which have been fitted perpendicularly to the hands. Finally watch will ship on a kudu leather strap and will include a H. Moser bracelet as a gift to members at no additional cost. List price for the Pioneer Centre Seconds Rotating Bezel C.02 is 15,900USD. The jacket is 1’300USD. Thoughts? What can I say, I’m a sucker for an inspiring photoshoot – I mean just look at this dude; I haven’t got a Scooby Doo where he’s headin’ off too with his stunning watch, that badass jacket and destroyed US Navy duffle bag but if I need to get on that plane; that’s the dude I want flying it! Btw the brand’s motto is “very rare”; this watch is so rare that you won’t find it anywhere unless you’re a member of the Horology Collective – literally as rare as the proverbial rocking horse sh!t (it is now SOLD OUT). However as nice as this is, in the grand scheme of things it isn’t really for me – the Streamliner collection on the other hand; show me where I need to sign up to trade in my organs. Liked this or the Streamliner (pictured below)? Then maybe you’ll also appreciate THIS, the Grand Sport Tourbillon from Laurent Ferrier.
