JS Watch Company Reykjavik SIF N.A.R.T. 1948 with 1000M COLD FORGED STEEL CASE

Can you hear that? It’s the sound of an Icelandic thunderclap for this incredible new addition to the Sif N.A.R.T. family.

The watch, named the Sif North Atlantic Rescue Timer 1948 was made in honor of the Icelandic Coast Guard who have been bravely patrolling the North Atlantic seas for over 60 years.

The Sif North Atlantic Rescue Timer (N.A.R.T.) 1948 is a classically styled Aeronautical rescue watch with an impressive (for its size) water-resistance up to a depth of 1000 meters.

Its modestly sized watch case has a diameter of just 40mm. This is in a brushed Stainless steel made from the finest German, Cold-Forged surgical grade 316L Stainless Steel.

The advantage of using Cold-Forged 316L Stainless steel is that is amazingly corrosion resistant. Cold-Forging also makes the cases up to 80 percent harder as well as reducing any impurities.

After the Cold-Forging the case bodies, bezels and case-backs are milled, drilled and turned on highly accurate CNC machines.

The watch also gets an anti-reflective Sapphire crystal which covers a sunburst dark blue or black dial with Arabic luminous numerals and indexes and luminous pilot style hands.

The watch boasts simply stunning 3D applique markers with brightly glowing lume applied. The hands have been polished by hand to a brushed finish.

The SIF N.A.R.T. 1948 is powered by a Swiss Made Mechanical movement “Execution Top” with automatic winding, 25 jewels, 40 hours of power reserve, custom decorations, blue screws and a Rhodium plated finish.

The watch is delivered on a handmade 20mm vintage leather pilot’s strap available in two shades of brown or on a Stainless steel Milanese shark-mesh bracelet.

All parts for the SIF N.A.R.T. 1948 were crafted in Germany and Switzerland.

JS Watch co. Reykjavik is one of the world's smallest watch manufacturers, they hand assemble every single watch in their collection in their workshop in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Their list of happy customers includes the likes of: Ed Sheeran, Kit Harington, Mads Mikkelsen, Tobey Maguire, Ben Stiller, Dennis Quaid, Jude Law, Tom Cruise, Elvis Costello, Vinnie Jones, Yoko Ono, Sean Lennon, Eli Roth, Quentin Tarantino, the Dalai Lama and His Majesty King Constantine II.

Thoughts? While this isn’t a diver, I would imagine it to be every bit as tough any diver furthermore it comes from a truly remarkable watchmaker. The case looks like it’s built like a mini tank, the blue dial is breathtaking.

Allow me to further convey my thoughts in an intelligent and dignified manner without the use of any crude expletives – f#ck it, I f#ck!n’ love it, it’s the dog bollocks (small ones mind you but still the dog's nuts) ! Oops!

What do you think? Could you see yourself being added to that list of happy customers? If they're good enough for Vinnie.

I would love one but alas I am still not quite ready for anything much under 42mm but I would be keen to see how it looks on my wrist. Perhaps I could be persuaded.
