UNDIVE Dark Sea 500M in theSTEEL

Introducing Undive Watches, a new Hong Kong based micro-band that has lovingly resurrected a well-known look from the halls of history.

After two years of developing their first divers model, the Undive team who were founded in 2015, have finally brought to market a professional divers watch known as the Dark Sea!

Seiko fans might recognize the Seiko 6105’s DNA when they look at the Dark Sea.
As at first glance, you will see that the Dark Sea 500m was obviously inspired by the vintage Seiko 6105 Diver.

However, the Dark Sea was never meant to be a direct copy of Seiko 6105 rather a dive watch that pays tribute to it by merely imitating its iconic shape.

Once on your wrist, you’ll discover that Dark Sea although inspired by an historic model actually has a fresh and modern style of its own.

Its 316L Stainless steel case has a diameter of 45mm; a thickness of 15.4mm and a wearable lug to lug distance of just 50mm, the watch has a big look but actually is designed to be comfortable on wrist.

Details such as the Dark Sea’s highly polished lug surface create a high degree of contrast against- its beautifully brushed coni-edge bezel.

The case sides have also been formed using different cutting edges that give the Dark Sea a rather angular and masculine feel.

An oversized screw-down crown allows for sooth and easy time adjustments while a dome Sapphire crystal harkens to the past yet with crystal clear clarity form all angles.

The Dark Sea isn’t short on functions either. 500 meters water resistance , a Helium Escape and large BGW9 SupeLuminova filled hands and hour-markers guarantee a high level of performance when diving in its namesake!

A special feature of Dark Sea 500m is the red dot on its second hand. Not only does iy hold special meaning to the Undive team who put it there but it also glows pink in the dark acting as a movement indicator.

The Dark Sea 500m comes in two versions: Cool Steel, an all Stainless steel model; and Black Storm, which boasts a DLC coated brushed bezel.

Power comes from a Seiko NH35 automatic mechanical movement with a beat-rate of 21,600bph, 41 hours of power reserve and hacking seconds.

Prices start from around 450USD model dependent.
