OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M ETNZ for 35th AMERICA's CUP

By TLex These SM300's keep getting better and better! OMEGA has introduced a sporty new Seamaster Diver 300M ETNZ for the forthcoming 35th America’s Cup in 2017 and it's a beauty!

A Grade 5 Titanium constructed case with G5 Ti red and black chrono-pushers, a black ceramic bezel, a sand-blasted G5 Ti dial and a reversible black and red rubber divers strap allow for as bold or as subtle a statement as you would like for your wrist while celebrating a long term partnership between OMEGA and the yachtsmen of Emirates Team New Zealand that dates back to 1995 with Sir Peter Blake's American's Cup winning campaign.

Let's get straight to the sand-blasted Grade 5 Titanium dial; ultra-modern, super clean and somethig really rather special. It has applied markers that have been coated with white BGW9 SuperLumiNova that emits a blue light. A silvery chronograph seconds track can be found on the outer edge of the dial; inside this ring is a matt Titanium minute track.

There are three sub-dials on the dial: a small seconds indicator at 9 o’clock, a 12-hr recorder at 6 o’clock and a 30-min recorder at 3 o’clock which also indicates a five-minute countdown to the start of a regatta.

Now to the 44mm brushed Grade 5 Titanium case with its pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock, which are highlighted with a red alumina ring and a matt black ceramic ring respectively. To keep all chrono-operations as simple as possible all of its elements have been colored in red. Further features include the SM 300's signature manual Helium Escape Valve in its usual home at 10 o'clock. This has been cleverly integrated a date corrector.

The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M ETNZ has water-resistance of 300 meters. Further divers features include a black ceramic unidirectional rotational divers bezel with a polished dive-time scale whose indications have been created in relief using laser ablation. There is a white C3 SuperLumiNova which emits a green light at the top of the bezel at 12 o’clock.

The Seamaster Diver 300M ETNZ is presented on a red and black reversible rubber divers strap with a foldover clasp. The top part of the strap is black and has a subtle ribbed pattern, while the underside of the strap is red and has a design that is reminiscent of the sails on the team’s boat. This pattern ensures that water and air can pass freely underneath allowing the skin to breath. Very nice!

Embossed on the screwdown caseback is the ETNZ logo – a special detail that showcases the watch's connection to the world of sailing. Protected by this caseback is the Co-Axial calibre 3330, a chronograph movement complete with an Si14 silicon balance spring.
