The World of Ralf Tech Watches & The WRX Diver

By TLex
In 1998 Franck Huyghe created Ralf Tech Watches, combining his two true passions in life; diving and horology. Also born of recognizable scuba brand Ralf Tech Pro Diving Equipment, Ralf Tech Watches are destined for the ocean depths, well at least to 400 meters that is!

The WRX Diver is available as three versions; automatic, chronograph or e-matic. The automatics are limited to 500 pieces and come with an ETA2824-2 beating inside. The chronograph also comes with a Swiss movement, a Valjoux 7750 and is limited to 250 pieces. Ralf Tech's e-matic movement gives you the autonomy of an automatic movement with the accuracy of a quartz movement. One would imagine it works in a similar way to Seiko Kinetic or Citizen Echo Drive. It has a 60 day power reserve.

For those of you who are not familiar with Ralf Tech watches I highly recommend logging on to their fascinating and truly engaging website and having a good browse about. Although worded entirely in French the site is very easy to navigate and has loads of interesting info, images and background on the watches including Ralf Tech’s many diving expeditions including details of a world record breaking dive down to 330 meters, where the diver was equipped with a Ralf Tech WR1 Diver.
