SCRUFA Treasure Seeker

Throughout history, treasure seekers have been the inspiration for countless books and movies: Treasure Island is a classic, or - it was a bit before my time but does anyone remember the 1977 film, The Deep with Nick Nolte? I digress, it wasn't the best anyway but the sheer prospect of unearthing buried treasure or discovering a trove of sunken gold bullion at the bottom of the sea is all too enticing.

Like that shipwreck that was discovered in 2018 with over 22 billion dollars of gold, right at the bottom of the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Columbia.

And now there’s a dive watch to accompany you on your very own deep sea treasure hunt wherever that may be!

The UK’s very own SCURFA Watches, headed up by offshore commercial diver, Paul Scurfield has just dropped a brand new model and it’s something quite unexpected from the brand that prides itself on bringing to market no-frills diver’s watches. Introducing the new Scurfa Treasure Seeker, a brand new design unlike any other Scurfa model released to so far. Featuring an extremely high quality brushed and polished bumper bar case in surgical grade Stainless steel and a sporty hexagonal embossed dial offered in six colors, the Treasure Seeker puts the British brand in uncharted waters. Its handsome-looking case has a water-resistance to 300 meters and is fitted with a tough double domed Sapphire crystal; meanwhile that dial comes with Grade A SuperLuminova BGW9 on its hands and markers. Further diver’s features include: a screw-down crown and case-back as well as a 120-click unidirectional rotational diver’s bezel with a ceramic inlay.

And that case-back comes with an amazing deep sea diver motif quite unlike the bog standard diver’s helmet we typically see.

Powering the Treasure Seeker is the Japanese made Miyota 9015, automatic mechanical movement with a date feature and a hacking-seconds hand.

The Treasure Seeker from Scurfa has an MSRP in the UK of £442 which includes VAT. And for the rest of the World its list price is £368.33.

Thoughts? This is not your typical Scurfa – no doubt it has been built to the same exacting standards that Scurfa are known for but it comes some very nice aesthetic features such as that embossed dial and that awesome case-back. What do think?
