PANERAI Submersible Chrono Flyback PALTRINIERI EDIZIONE

PANERAI has just debuted yet ANOTHER special edition of their Submersible Chrono Flyback – only this one is ultra-exclusive and comes with some additional Italian flare.

Introducing the new Submersible Chrono Flyback 47mm - Paltrinieri Edition AKA PAM01163 with only 27 pieces available, Worldwide!

The new Panerai Submersible Chrono Flyback Paltrinieri Edition has been inspired by the record-breaking Italian, Olympic swimmer, Gregorio Paltrinieri and like him has been designed for Olympic greatness. With its sandblasted Titanium case, ceramic bezel and flyback chronograph function, the new Panerai Submersible Chrono Flyback Paltrinieri Edition – 47mm is a Limited Edition model available exclusively online.

Special features of the watch include: a special blue swimming-lanes inspired dial complete with white printed swimmer motif above the colors of the Tricolore AKA Italian flag, below him at 6hr.

Meanwhile the case-back features an engraving depicting an Olympic swimming pool complete with lanes, starting blocks and once again a swimmer dude as well as Gregorio Paltrinieri’s signature.

Finally one further unique feature is the watch’s blue crown which is protected by Panerai’s signature crown-locking device with lever – the shade of which perfectly matches the accordion-style blue diver’s strap the watch comes on.

The special limited edition watch is only available from Panerai’s eCommerce website where it has a Swiss MSRP or 29'800CHF.

Thoughts? Here’s one (or should we say 27) for swim fans only - in particular fans of Gregorio Paltrinieri as well as fans of nice but ultimately over-priced Italian diving chronograph watches – which tbf is not too many people hence the low quantity produced.

Personally I absolutely love the colors and the finishing of this watch – Gregorio’s a very lucky man. But I would prefer not to fork out extra for his signature watch –

no offense, I’m sure he’s a nice bloke and wish him success with his swimming. ;)

Anyway what do you think? This is or one of the new JIMMY CHIN Editions – my money’s on Jimmy!
