GLASHÜTTE ORIGINAL SeaQ Panorama Date & BORIS HERRMANN

Glashütte Original has partnered with the German offshore sailor, Boris Herrmann for the 2020 Vendée Globe, which started last weekend.

Boris Herrmann will compete aboard his 60-foot (18-metre) yacht, the Seaexplorer. The current race record is just over 74 days, with some boats reaching speeds of over 70 km per hour.

Boris is the first German to participate in this race across the world’s oceans, so Glashütte Original was a natural partner for him. He is being accompanied by his new SeaQ Panorama Date Ref. 1-36-13-01-80-34 on his epic around the world sailing adventure. The SeaQ Panorama Date is water-resistant up to 300 meters and equipped a screw-down crown and centrally-screwed sapphire crystal case-back. In addition, the SeaQ Panorama Date is fitted with a unidirectional counter-clockwise rotating bezel with a tough ceramic inlay. The watch is powered by GO’s in-house, caliber 36-13 automatic movement with a running time of 100 hours.

As well as being particularly shock-resistant, the movement is also resistant to magnetic fields thanks to its Si (silicon) balance spring. See how the SeaQ was TESTED in-house.
