PANERAI Submersible Goldtech™ OROCARBO

Unveiled at Watches & Wonders in Shanghai, this week (gotta’ get that China money, so no surprise that Panerai lists all of its Taiwanese-based boutique addresses as being part of Mainland China; excuse my French for a moment - kowtowing c@#ts!).

FYI, Taiwan, where OceanicTime is based is an independent, democratic, sovereign island-state off the coast of Communist, gangster-run, Mainland China, which it has never been a part of.

I digress; the new Submersible GoldtechTM 44mm AKA PAM01070 is a professional diver’s watch with an experimental aesthetic that combines two innovative materials for the first time: GoldtechTM and CarbotechTM.

The watch features a solid case made from Panerai GoldtechTM, a gold alloy with an intense and stable color made possible by its significant copper content and enrichment with platinum.

The dial features applied indexes and a satiné soleil decoration, which is basically just a fancy way of saying that it’s sun-brushed.

GoldtechTM, CarbotechTM, Satiné Soleil aside, at the heart of it, this watch is a 300m water-resistant diver with all the prerequisites of any Submersible such as a studded diver’s bezel and of course Panerai’s iconic crown-locking lever.

Btw the crown and screw-down case-back are in Titanium with a black DLC coating while power comes from the P.900 Caliber with 3-days of power-reserve.

The P. 900 is Panerai’s latest automatic movement. It was designed and developed entirely by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel.

Thoughts? This new PAM shows its distinctive character that effortlessly combines sportiness and high-tech elegance; it’s very very nice. I’m sure the price is nice, too, though.
