LINDE WERDELIN Oktopus MOONLITE

LW’s Oktopus MOONLITE is back, and this time it’s . . . just as beautiful as ever thanks to its aerospace-grade ALW case and stunning photorealistic moonphase.

The new Oktopus MoonLite is only the third series of timepieces from LW to make use of ALW AKA Alloy Linde Werdelin for its entire case since the OG MoonLite was initially released in 2014.

ALW, btw is a unique material created for aerospace and Formula 1 but repurposed by Linde Werdelin for the entire case of the Oktopus MoonLite.

LW uses colorless ALW which has been subjected to a groundbreaking treatment that creates a protective layer, making it twice the tensile strength of steel while remaining half the weight of Titanium!

A close relative of the OG MoonLite, this series is also endowed with a black ceramic bezel.

It is powered by Linde Werdelin’s in-house moonphase complication which enables a diver to track the development of the moon phases and with that the impact on tides and ambient light and thereby plan the optimal time for night dives.

Moon was the first in-house designed and developed complication by Linde Werdelin in 2010.

The moonphase caliber is displayed on the watch’s five-layer skeletonized dial with réhaut and top dial in white with a circular satin finish.

The lower dial also in white has a rough circular satin finish. The hands are in a Titanium color with a satin finish and cool grey Luminova.

Large numerals at 3, 9 and 12 are also with cool grey Luminova with a blue frame.

The hour indexes and logo too are in the same cool grey Luminova with a blue frame while the minute indexes and logotype are printed in blue.

The famous photorealistic moon phases are visible through an aperture at 6 o’clock. The moonphase is with a circular perlage surface on metallic silver-white moon disc.

Blue “0” indicates current moon phase; orange numbers indicate past and future moon phases.
Water-resistance is 300m.

The watch is a Limited Edition series of just 59 individually numbered pieces, worldwide. MSRP is in the UK is a cool £11,000.
