HELBERG CH1 MOKUME GANE

Helberg’s 6000 meter water-resistant, retro-diver, the CH1 has been reproduced in a stunning new series made from Mokume Gane.

The new Helberg CH1 Mokume Gane is made from German-produced Mokume Gane; a material made from thin layers of 316L Stainless and solid Bronze alloy.

Mokume Gane is a complex ancient Japanese metalworking process that produces a mixed-metal-laminate with distinctive layered patterns, as well as the exceptional material itself.

The Japanese “Mokume Gane” literally translates as "wood grain metal" or "wood eye metal" which describes the way in which the metal-laminate takes on the appearance of wood grain.

The use of Mokume Gane is perfectly showcased in the simple architecture of the CH1, a special model created by Helberg that pays homage to an historical Rolex experimental watch, the DSS.

The mid-case, bezel and crown are made from Mokume Gane; while a Swiss ETA 2824 movement betas inside a housing that can withstand 600+ bar of water-pressure.

The case is then fitted with a unique spherical double domed Sapphire glass and a closed or Sapphire display (↓to 3000m) Titanium case-back.

This exclusive spherical Sapphire crystal produces stunning distortions of the dial from specific angles, but also allows a close-to-perfect view from directly above.

In addition to a handmade Italian calf leather strap, there is an optional 316L Stainless steel bracelet with a micro-adjustment clasp plus integrated diver’s extension.

The Helberg CH1 Mokume Gane is available to ORDER form H2O Watch online store where it has a list price of 1’990 Euro excl. 19% EU VAT.
