This is the DS Action Diver Sea Turtle Conservancy, a Special Edition commemorating Certina’s membership in the Sea Turtle Conservancy, which is dedicated to the conservation of Sea Turtles and their habitats.
The STC was first established in 1959, which just happens to be the very same year in which Certina debuted its Double Security AKA DS concept. In addition to this, the watch conforms to ISO 6425 standards for diving watches by use of special O-ring seals for its crown and case-back.
Being a professional diver’s watch, the DS Action is water-resistant to 300 meters, and has a screw-down crown, screw-down case back and a unidirectional divers bezel with a SuperLumiNova coated dive-time scale.
It is powered by an ETA Powermatic 80 movement, known for its impressive 80-hours of power reserve. The blue seconds hand and WR text is a nod to the Sea Turtle Conservancy, the official logo of which is featured on the watch’s case-back.
