HAMILTON Khaki Navy SCUBA

It’s amazing what a splash orange does to the overall appearance of a divers watch. This youthful-looking new diver is probably one of the nicer looking new dive watch models released at Basel this year.

Last year Hamilton Surprised is with a very cool new model, the Khaki Navy FROGMAN – this year the Khaki Navy family is joined by a smaller sibling, the new Khaki Navy Scuba Auto which is available in 2 guises - this orange and black beauty and more sober black and white version.

The Khaki Navy Scuba has a modest 40mm in diameter Stainless steel case which is equipped with everything you might expect on a watch designed for scuba-diving: a unidirectional rotational divers bezel, a Sapphire crystal, a screw-down case-back and crown and a not so scuba-oriented 100 meters of water-resistance!

It amazes how even the largest and most established of Swiss watch companies can get something as simple as water-resistance so wrong. The Scuba name and beautifully posed marketing image complete with divers wet-suit and mask suggests that this is a certified diver however the miserly 10atm indicates the otherwise. It's still a looker, though!

The new Khaki Navy Scuba comes with either a solid 3-link Stainless steel divers bracelet or a black Nylon strap with an orange underside and Stainless steel buckle.
