IWC has released a Special Edition of their Aquatimer Chronograph in a limited production of 500 watches with a special hammerhead shark engraving on their casebacks.
The Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Shark is exclusively bundled with a copy of Michael Muller’s book of the same name.
The limited Collector’s Edition book is signed by Michael, who has over teh past decased. traveled the world to document different shark species – and is presented in a shark-proof metal cage.
Michael dives with these ocean predators without the typical protection of a shark-cage, approaching them armed only with a 1,200-watt underwater strobe lighting rig.
An increasing number of shark species are facing extinction. More than 100 million sharks are caught every year whilst continued over-fishing depletes their nutritional resources.
To raise awareness of the dire situation that sharks are facing, IWC is now producing an exclusive themed special edition of the iconic Aquatimer dive watch.
The Aquatimer Chronograph Edition Sharks Ref. IW379506 has distinctive sunburst grey dial which has been inspired by the color of most sharks.
Housed in its Stainless steel case is an IWC manufactured 89365 caliber. The chronograph is water-resistant to 30 bar and boasts a flyback function, a self-winding system and a power reserve of 68 hours.
Dive-time can be set using the watch’s mechanical external/internal rotating divers bezel.
Developed by IWC, it combines the excellent legibility of an internal rotating bezel with the ease of use of an external bezel.
IWC’s SafeDive system ensures that the internal bezel can only be adjusted in an anticlockwise direction.
While luminous coatings on the dial, hands and the internal rotating bezel provide optimum legibility underwater.
The Sharks bundle, comprising a limited-edition watch and a copy of the limited-edition book, is available to buy in IWC boutiques, now.
