Here’s a sneak peek of the new Bathyscaphe 100 Bronze MKII from Aquadive!
The original BS100 Bronze was a real success and in many ways has been one if the most important bronze dive watches –
not necessarily the first, but one of the first from an important Swiss watch company and released long before Bronze started going mainstream with the likes of Oris, Tudor, Zodiac et al getting in on the act.
Despite its great success as a bronze divers model, fans of the BS100 Bronze felt that it could still be tweaked in order to achieve perfection –
Aquadive have listened to feedback from some of those more discerning or should we say hard-core fans and ended implementing some of their ideas – and so they got to help make one of only a handful of truly German Made Bronze dive watches just a little bit better!
The Bronze case of the Bathyscaphe 100 Bronze MKII has been made of a German Bronze Alloy that has been CNC-machined by Fricker of Pforzheim, one of the leading German watch case manufactures, specializing in dive watches.
Despite its use of a modern German engineered case, the original 1970s design that dates back to the very earliest Aquadive divers models has been retained – only this time round it has been reduced in height by 2mm; extending the lugs by 1mm at each end.
The result – is |Aquadive’s unmistakable Bathyscaphe case but with far more of comfortable ride
on the wrist.
The new Bathyscaphe 100 Bronze MKII is still powered by a Swiss made ETA 2836-2 caliber, is still fitted with a high-tech gloss-black ceramic bezel – and still has an impressive 1000 meters of water-resistance –
however it does feature one last upgrade – it now uses a new steel tube and crown inlet to prevent any bronze oxidation/corrosion that could comprise the case over time.
The new Aquadive Bathyscaphe 100 Bronze MKII is still one of the most affordable true German made Bronze divers on the market today – it is priced 2490USD.
However if it is ordered before September 15th, it has a special PRE-ORDER price of 1690USD including shipping at which point shipping will commence.
