BREITLING Avenger HURRICANE

By TLex Introducing a watch of extremes! With its 50mm case diameter, the new Avenger Hurricane from Breitling is probably the last of a dying trend for over-sized watches while the use of a special case material puts it right at the forefront of a newer trend for watches constructed from futuristic alloys and composite materials!

If you’re gonna strap a massive dive watch to your wrist it may as well be as light as a feather, right? While the new Avenger Hurricane’s 50mm case might not be quite feather-light; it is still very light thanks its ultra-sturdy and ultra-light case that has been made of a cutting-edge new material called Breitlight.

Breitlight is 3.3 times lighter than Titanium and 5.8 times lighter than steel, but is significantly harder, boasting all the usual traits that one might expect from such a high-tech material: exceptional resistance to scratches, traction and corrosion, anti-magnetic, anti-allergic properties and thermal stability. Thermal stability?! This probably means it will survive the hot-tub! ;)

As well these exceptional qualities, it has a touch that is warmer than metal and a look that is ever so slightly mottled accentuating its unique design. Sounds endearing! ;)

This XXL watch is as sturdy as they come with its construction bolstered by lateral protective reinforcements, and is a sharp-looking as they get, too with an all-black theme enhanced by yellow accents and military-inspired stencil-type numerals!

Extreme watches call or extreme reliability; in steps the new Manufacture Breitling Caliber B12, a self-winding chronograph with a 24-hour display as is customary in the military, and chronometer-certified by Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.

Extreme functionality is ensured by a highly legible dial enhanced with luminescent hands and numerals, a thick Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and chrono-pushers and crowns fitted with a non-slip grip ensuring optimal handling even with wet divers gloves.

Extreme comfort is provided by an exclusive strap combining a yellow rubber core and sides with a high-resistance black Military textile fiber exterior.

Divers features include: a not so extreme water-resistance to 100m and a rotational divers bezel with Breitling’s signature 4x rider tabs serving to memorize dive-time.
