By TLex Not just a pretty face! With its dark chestnut brown sandwich dial, and enigmatic vintage design echoing what was arguably the coolest experimental wristwatch ever made, the new DIEVAS MG-1 has been 3 years in the making.
Each of its components including the case, bezel, inner cage, crown tube, crown and 20 other inner components have been CNC milled in Germany from a high strength German marine grade Superalloy that is 250% stronger, 400% more anti-magnetic and 500% more corrosion resistant compared to SS316L or Grade 5 Titanium!
The perfect material then for a dive watch, as long term exposure to saltwater in extreme conditions can lead to corrosion. This though is completely resistant to prolonged contact with saltwater and is also known for its extreme resistance to cracking and pitting thereby further increasing its reliability.
The Mg-1’s exceptionally sturdy high strength marine grade Superalloy case has been produced by ThyssenKrupp and is unparalleled in its remarkable seawater and anti-magnetic resistance. It is water-resistant to 1000 meters.
Measuring 45mm in diameter with a thickness of 14mm, the MG-1’s hand-finished watch case is fitted with a domed scratch resistant and unblemished Swiss Sapphire crystal with an inner anti-reflection coating and a massive solid screwdown caseback.
A dark chestnut brown dual-layered dial with a top dial consisting of numbers and indices cut out to reveal a lower second SLN luminous dial, beneath with a set of fully luminous skeleton hands ensure excellent readability of time in even the poorest of lighting conditions.
Beating away at the heart of the MG-1 is the Swiss Made ETA 2824-2 modified by Dievas Uhren Technik, each movement is regulated to the utmost accuracy before leaving the watchmakers bench.
A choice of a Tan or Black distressed leather strap made from the softest, Italian sourced calfskin completes its look!
The Dievas MG-1 is limited just 99 pieces Worldwide and is made exclusively for GNOMON Watches. Its price is 990USD.
