BOREALIS Batial BRONZE

By TLex After a certain Florentine dive watch brand was sold and took a new direction with its watch designs, a bit of a gap was left in the market;

not much has been done to bridge that gap however this could be a worthy stopgap until something does or perhaps even an affordable alternative to one of those legendary ‘nimos.

Introducing the Batial Bronze, the very first CuSn8 bronze watch manufactured by Borealis Watch Company.

I’m gonna take a stab in the dark here, but I’d say that name Batial is likely the Portuguese (Borealis’ native language) for bathyal, which relates to the ocean-zone between the continental shelf and the abyssal zone.

Thanks to the Batial Bonze’s use of use of Viton and Tefzel gaskets it has a 3000 meters of water-resistance which means it would very much at home in the depths of the Bathyal Zone!

Its solid CuSn8 case is fitted with a Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating applied on its inside and a Helium Escape Valve, which is located at the 9 o'clock position.

The Borealis Batial series is available in four distinct dial colors: black, blue, brown and green together with a combination of a date or non-date dial.

The dial, watch hands are made with thick Swiss Made RC Tritec C3 lume applied to it in order to guarantee a perfect illumination and easy readability in darkness.

It is powered by a Miyota 9015 automatic movement and comes on a handmade leather strap with a custom bronze CuSn8 buckle.
