ULYSSE NARDIN Blue OCEAN

By TLex Whoa; this new offering from UN is very very blue, and the wave pattern that can be seen on the - dial, bezel and strap of the aptly named, Ocean Blue might have been overdone just a tad too much.

But then again, this is Ulysse Nardin; all their dive watches are appealing to me as is this; they have their own distinct identity which counts for a lot these days. So although I would probably tone the blue waves down some, given the opportunity I'd still happily wear one.

The 1846 piece Limited Edition (each individually numbered on the side of the case) has been designed with a 45.8mm Stainless-steel case that has been specially treated with a sophisticated vulcanization process, which gives it its intense blue rubber cladding. Apart from its striking appearance the addition of rubber makes the watch extremely comfortable.

Divers features include: an anti-reflective treated Sapphire crystal, a screwdown security crown and caseback with Sapphire crystal, a unidirectional rotational divers bezel and a rubber divers strap with two black ceramic elements and a folding divers clasp. Water-resistance is 200m.

The exhibition caseback affords a view of the Calibre UN-26 'blued' self-winding movement, with 28 jewels and a power-reserve of approximately 42hrs. Its functions include: a power-reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, a small seconds and large date at 6 o’clock. The blue dial with its wave pattern and gold accents features luminescent markers also in blue.
