By TLex SCURFA has given the Diver ONE a bit of an update! The original Diver One had originally only been produced for Paul Scurfa’s North Sea Diver workmates and was never really intended for anyone else. However it was so well received by all that saw it that it quickly sold out.
So SCURFA decided to improve upon the design of the Diver One, taking on board the all the feedback that had been received from its wearers and comments from those discussing it on the forums. The following updates to the Diver One include:
a domed Sapphire crystal to compliment the curved shape of the Diver One’s case (this has been tinted with a blue anti-reflective coating), the larger bezel has been now been fitted with a ceramic insert with SuperLuminous markers, the ‘Diver One’ text on the dial is now in red a nod to Paul’s love of vintage divers.
The Divers One’s crown is now signed with the D1 logo, the caseback is thicker to help with the new 300 meter water-resistance, which also helps to elevate the crown off the wrist and coming loose as can happen with the first model. The same Swiss made Ronda 515 Powertech Quartz module is being used as before, as it has proven to be a highly accurate timekeeper.
The Diver One’s new presentation box has been manufactured in Germany. The ‘twist box’ design was inspired by the packaging used to ship spare parts to Paul when he was working offshore. Follow the link embedded, below for more on SCURFA and the Diver One . . .
