By TLex Here are a few shots of the new PIRANHA 500M Automatic Diver from Prometheus, which is inspired by dive watches of the 60s and 70s, but with a slightly modern flare.
The watch comes in four distinct matte colored dials. These are black, orange, yellow or white. At the moment Prometheus only have - orange, yellow and white in stock. The black version will be available in November.
The dials have a total of 8 layers of C3 SuperLuminova applied to them, so the should glow like mad and will no doubt be easyily read in poor lighting conditions.
The Piranha's 44mm case is in 316L Stainless steel with a brushed finish. It is fitted with a Helium Escape Valve at the 9 o'clock - making it a suitable for all types of diving including SAT diving.
Further divers features include: a signed screwdown crown and 'Piranha' engraved caseback, a Sapphire crystal with AR-coating on its inside, a 60 click unidirectional divers bezel and a water-resistance to 500 meters or 50 ATM.
The Piranha 500M is powered by a Japanese made, Miyota 9015 automatic movement. This movement allows the case of the Piranha to have a total height of just 14.20mm.
Finally this aggressive-looking little diver comes on a custom ISOfrane-style black PU rubber divers strap with a Prometheus signed Stainless steel buckle priced 339euro.
