MARVIN Bathyscaphe 1stLOOK

By TLex Here’s a quick look at a new divers model from Marvin, called the Bathyscaphe. Yes, another model named, Bathyscaphe – however Marvin did produce a dual crowned external bezel diver in the mid-80s to early-90s also named, Bathyscaphe of which this seems to bear very little resemblance.

There is nothing official on the new the Marvin Bathyscaphe. But I have read that its 43mm case has just 200 meters of water-resistance and that it will be powered by a Sellita auto, probably the SW200. It will come in at least three color variants : steel with a yellow scale, steel with red and PVD or DLC with blue.

I’m intrigued by the red dot on the dial, but am little worried by the size and shape of the big red cog on the top left of the case – presumably for operating the internal bezel. I’m not impressed by the crown guard, but I do like the case. First impressions are that the Marvin Bathyscaphe looks a little clumsy quirky.
