LUMINOX Mariner SERIES

By TLex Luminox have introduced a new nautical-inspired stainless steel dive watch series. The new Mariner Series consists of two models a quartz and an automatic. The 6250 with its raised grid-patterned dial and bracelet with textured center links is powered by a Swiss quartz with a 10 year lithium battery.

The 6500 automatic with its matt black enamel dial is powered by a Swiss automatic mechanical movement, the SELITA SW220-1-HH6. It's not often that I'm drawn towards a quartz model more than I am an auto, but the hobnail (or should I tablette CHOCOLAT!) dial and matching bracelet are very appealing to me.

From LUMINOX Luminox introduces the new Mariner series 6250 and 6500 with nautical inspired features. Both series feature a stainless steel case, screw case back and screw down crown, unidirectional ratcheting bezel, and anti-reflective sapphire crystals. All models are water resistant to 200 meters.

The Mariner 6250 series have matt black dials with a grid patterned center section, nickel hands, and white numbers and markings. This series is available three ways: with a black ring on the bezel and black padded leather strap; with a red ring on the bezel and red contrast stitch on its black padded leather strap; or on a solid link steel bracelet with security clasp, and textured detail center link, echoing the dial motif. All models feature a 10 year lithium battery Swiss quartz movement.

The Mariner 6500 Automatic models have a black enamel dial, two tone nickel hands (matt and polished) and polished silver indices and Luminox logo. Model 6501 has a black padded leather strap and 6502 has a solid link smooth finish steel bracelet. Both models feature a Swiss automatic mechanical SELITA SW220-1-HH6 movement.

Always Visible, the essential elements of the Mariner’s dial are always visible, thanks to Luminox Light Technology, a self-powered illumination system that uses micro gas tubes mounted on the hands, markers and bezel of the watch. The proprietary system glows brightly and constantly for up to 25 years, so the time can always be read, regardless of lighting conditions.

  1. I liked and bought the 6205 Mariner. Having had the 1842 Field I was impressed with the upper end Luminox's.
I'm glad they came out with a watch that is rugged, pleasing to the eye and has tubes on the second hand and the 12 spot on the bezel to help tell time. I don't know why it can't meet the Divers ISO but the 1842 was rugged enough for me and this one is better still. I wanted to get the auto Selitta version but I work hard with my hands and was afraid of damage to the automatic movement in time.

    1. The 6502 meets i.s.o standards but luminox doesn't want to raise the price of the watch so they don't pay for the certification process. The 6500 series are great watches at their price point. Congratulations on yours
