By TLex TISSOT have made a new version of their Seastar 1000 Automatic CHRONO. The new Seastar 1000 Professional Chronograph Valjoux. As its name might suggest, replaces the C01.211 automatic chronograph caliber with a higher grade movement, the Valjoux 7750, which boasts a gold rotor. It also features a large day-date function.
The case size has been bumped up a slightly from 48mm x 17.28mm to 49mm x 18.37mm, most likely to accommodate the slightly thicker movement. The bezel grip looks a lot more defined, too. Apart from this and the movement itself, the watches have pretty much the same spec.
The dial has also had a bit of a re-work (for the better). It has new surrounds for the markers and numerals and a new glossy black record-grain dial surround (not sure what the correct terminology for that is, but it looks good). There’s some new ‘PROFESSIONAL’ text, too, which replaces the ‘AUTOMATIC’ text on the right side of the dial.
The new Seastar 1000 Valjoux wasn't made to replace the existing 1000 Chrono, but is a welcome new addition to the Seastar 1000 family, and a nice one at that, too! It is a Limited Edition of 1’000 pieces.
