From IWC In recent years, Muller, who is also an avid diver, has developed a fondness for shooting underwater, and has devoted more of his time to underwater photography and documentation of the ocean's flora and fauna.

His innovative lighting techniques allow a different perspective on marine life. Muller's particular subjects of choice: sharks.

An expedition to the Fiji Islands to photograph the sharks of the Pacific was followed by an expedition to South Africa, where he documented the special feeding techniques of Great White sharks. Muller says he likes to photograph them for concrete reasons – namely, that they are becoming extinct.

“We don't know for sure whether our children will have the chance to experience these wonderful creatures themselves”, says Muller. “I want to document what we are in danger of losing through our mindless actions as human beings, and to show people the astounding beauty of the underwater world.”

IWC is pleased to present here a few of Muller's arresting shots of sharks, as well as the video below. A full length interview with Muller will appear in the coming Summer ACTION edition of IWC's Watch International Magazine.
