By TLex ZIXEN reveal their latest special project, the new Zulu UTC Automatic, and Zulu Diver Automatic. The exclusive in-house case design is a ZIXEN first, 42mm with a unique coin edge bezel design. The renderings shown here have been finalized, they are based on the research and input from a number of contributors, which include active armed forces personnel as well as WUS forum member.
The Zulu will have a comfortable foot print at 42mmx 49.5mm with total depth of just 13.0mm. The design philosophy behind the ZULU say Zixen '' has been purely, form and function for military application, as well as for the weekend worrier''. They wanted the ZULU to be visible, with a high level performance and precision, with an exceptional optical quality Sapphire crystal, extreme recoil resistance and down range effective in low-light visibility.
The ZULU houses a Swiss ETA caliber adjusted and regulated for accuracy. The design of the watch, a durable solid 316 marine grade Stainless steel with a three piece case constructions and a steel movement housing. It has a water-resistance to 30 ATM, or 300 meters / 1000ft. Further features include: a screw-down type crown, a 4mm coin-edge bezel design for effective grip and manipulation. The bezel is a 120-click type.
The UTC offers smooth independent setting of the time. It is available in variety of dial and hand combinations with a UTC 24 hour or 12 hour time only function. It will be supplied on premium NATO Ballistic nylon strap, or a ZIXEN high quality 4mm HD mesh bracelet. It comes with a Limited full two year warranty, backed by ZIXEN support and service. Initial production will be 100 units. Total production will be limited to just 300 pieces with a estimated delivery time in fall 2012.
