LOWIN COLOGNE NoLimits (intro)

By TLex An extreme watch made and designed by an extreme sportsman in his quiet atelier in Cologne Germany. The Lowin Cologne ‘NoLimits Oak’ and ‘NoLimits Sport’ watches have been crafted entirely by hand, every last detail except the hand sets and the ETA 2824 Swiss automatic movements have been handmade. The 45mm x 17mm case, 4mm thick caseback and bezel have been handcrafted from high-grade stainless steel that will never oxidize and is completely anti-magnetic.

The prototype case was tested in a pressure chamber to 200bar / 2000m / 6562feet. A specially made 5mm thick sapphire crystal, which is held in place by the bezel (owing to a step in the crystal) and then sealed by special Teflon seals helps maintain its high water-resistance. The case sides and lugs have a lovely chiseled and hewn quality that only comes from this kind of fabrication.

The ‘NoLimits Oak’s dial, which has been marked out in Roman numerals ingeniously contradicts everything you ever thought you knew about contemporary dive watch design. The modern sporty Arabic font and bold markers of the ‘NoLimits Sport’ provide ample space for a generous application of luminous material. The Oak's handmade 7mm thick strap is held together with screwed pins. Stay tuned for more . . .
