REACTOR Poseidon (new)

By TLex REACTOR's new 1000m diver is finally here! When Jimmy Olmes, Reactor's founder and president first told me (in early 2009) about his planned 1000m dive watch I was very eager to get a glimpse of it, but had to wait a good 6 months before I even got a sneak peek of a finished prototype.

Today I am very pleased to finally introduce the new REACTOR Poseidon 1000m dive watch. I'm huge REACTOR fan, there's no doubt about it, they've got some of the most rugged and reliable sports watches that there are on the market; pound for pound, dollar for dollar you'll be hard pushed to find much better; 'The best built performance sports watch . . . period!' say REACTOR and I'm not arguing.

My Neutron is one of most beloved watches for a number of reasons; firstly the reliability and sheer convenience of its quartz movement, its tough as nails and then some more, its has incredible lume and its massive stainless steel case and bracelet offer just the right amount bling; but when all is said and done the Neutron is but a sports watch and is not a true diver.

The Poseidon offers everything that I love about the Neutron, but it's a true dive watch; in fact it exceeds the ISO 6425 standards for a Professional Dive Watch. The Poseidon, which features REACTOR's Never Dark® dial illumination system, which combines bright Superluminova with long-lasting tritium for perfect visibility under any lighting condition. Its massive 48mm x 17mm stainless steel case features both internal and external bezels.

There will be three versions of the Poseidon, two quartz versions and a hybrid automatic quartz Limited Edition model (featured here) with a very cool exhibition caseback to show off its black plated charging rotor. The watch comes supplied with with a massive two-tone bracelet, a spare divers strap and special tools for strap changes. Stay tuned for lots more on the different Poseidon versions and a full review in the coming weeks.

  1. I just purchased the Ti Poseidon (quartz) 3 months ago to have good dive watch while Brietling Seawolf was being serviced. Wow fanatastic watch. My Brietling is back and it is the box as my backup watch. The ND technology is second to none. I run, white water kayak and dive. What partner for adventure and damn it looks great too!1
