REACTOR Gamma Ti NeverDark® (new)

By TLex REACTOR have released a new titanium version of their best selling diver, the GAMMA. The GAMMA Ti has all the same great features that the steel version has such as; special toughened K1 Crystal, a 10yr battery and REACTOR's tough as nails DNA as found in all REACTOR watches. As well as the upgraded case material, which makes the watch 50% lighter, it also incorporates REACTOR's NeverDark® illumination technology.

I reviewed the GAMMA last year and was really impressed with its solid build quality and brilliant lume. However one thing I was unsure of was its unusual soccer-ball-like, two-tone bezel, something that this new Ti version (for me) fortunately lacks. The GAMMA just got better! MSRP is a very reasonable 550USD on the Ti bracelet or 525USD on rubber.

The ultimate water sport watch now in tough, lightweight material with NeverDark® Illumination

From REACTOR AGOURA HILLS, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2010) —Southern California-based REACTOR, maker of the world’s most durable and progressive sport watches, today announced they will introduce an all new titanium version of their #1 selling Gamma watch. The original stainless steel Gamma, introduced in 2008, has quickly become the brand's best selling style. The new titanium model weighs 50% less than the stainless steel version, yet features the same oversized 45.5mm case and 300M/990 ft. depth rating. While the stainless Gamma held the industry record for phosphorescent watches with 24 hours of visible glow, the titanium version features Reactor’s exclusive Never Dark® illumination, which allows the watch to be seen in any lighting for over 12 years.

With a response curve similar to that of the human eye, Reactor’s patent-pending Never Dark® is an advanced proprietary lighting system that combines intensely bright Swiss Superluminova with long-lasting tritium gas-filled tubes. Working together, these features overcome the limitations of either’s illumination when used alone.

'This new Gamma is without a doubt the most technologically advanced watch we have ever produced,' said Reactor Founder and Owner, Jimmy Olmes. 'The combination of our Never Dark® system with titanium and Gamma’s other performance features really make this a special timepiece.'

Like the stainless steel version, Gamma Ti features the same special K-1 crystal with four layers of anti-glare coating to make the watch easier to read under water, a unidirectional timing bezel, and a day/date movement with 10-year power cell. Like all Reactors, Gamma Ti features a triple o-ring screw-down crown system for added water resistance, and a secure screw bar case-to-band interface for unmatched strength. Available in three styles, Gamma Ti will ship in early March with a MSRP of $550 for the titanium bracelet model with black or red dial, $525 for the rubber strap model with black dial only.
