CYMA NavyStar (skin divers)

By TLex CYMA released their new Navy Star collection last year which included an updated version of their Skin Diver which was presented at Baselworld in 2003 (below).

The 09 version has been completely recreated; CYMA say, to appeal to today's active and rugged lifestyles. It reflects the latest designs and trends, such as PVD bezels, but falls short in the size department. At 41mm it would generously be called a midsized dive watch, appealing to those who've yet to have developed an appreciation of over sized watches or the fairer sex.

I really like the Skin Diver's diamond cut bezel notches. I was just writing a review of my BOSCHETT Cave Dweller which has a similar bezel design, although the Cave Dweller's notches are far more pronounced and much better looking in my opinion ;)

The Silver-white dialed Skin Diver GMT (above) with its wave pattern dial is somewhat reminiscent of the CHOPARD L.U.C Pro One GMT Diver although at first glance it reminded me of lesser diver, the Swiss Legend 1000m.The version below with a PVD bezel is an Auto, but there is also a quartz version.

All Navy Star Skin Divers house Swiss made movements that have been C.O.S.C certified. The divers come in; black, white-silver and blue waffle / wave patterened dials, are water-resistant to 200 meters, have unidirectional rotating bezels and full stainless steel bracelets with folding clasps and divers extension. The Skin Diver retails for around 2200USD.

I always appreciate seeing what else is on offer, but will stick to this type of skin diver!
