DEEP BLUE Master 2000 (New)

By TLex OceanicTime is very pleased to be the first to announce DEEP BLUE’s latest and greatest release. The Master 2000 is set to be another huge success for the New York based Dive Watch Company.

Two years in the works the Master 2000 boasts all the features one could want from a professional dive watch;

A large 316L stainless steel case measuring 46mm x 18mm. The case is resistant to extreme pressures from depths up to 2000 meters or 6600 feet. It is equipped with an automatic helium escape valve or HEV, making the Master 2000 suitable for not only scuba, but saturation diving as well.

Sat-divers are kept in a helium rich environment as part of their decompression. Helium is a tiny molecule, much smaller than oxygen and as such can seep into the watch’s case during the saturation period. If large amounts of helium build up in the case problems can arise. On returning to the surface molecules trapped in the watch’s case expand. This can result in the crystal popping out! An HEV takes care of this.

Stunning blue Super-LumiNova has been applied to the hands, indexes and bezel markings of its 120 click rotatable divers’ bezel; allowing for readings to be taken from the watch even under poor lighting conditions.

The Master 2000 is secured to the wearer’s wrist by a full 316L stainless steel bracelet with diver’s extension and a deployment clasp. DEEP BLUE have used screw links on the bracelet and have added 1/2 links to ensure a precise and comfortable fit.

The dial is secured by a huge sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside. Beating away beneath the dial at 28,000bph is an automatic Swiss movement; the ETA 2824-2 is a trusted workhorse and the perfect choice for the Master 2000.

The first batch of Master 2000’s is due to be released on November 1st; they will have black dials with black bezels and blue dials with blue bezels. I have wasted no time in securing a black dial, black bezel version with the DEEPBLUE handset for myself and will post a full review of it here.

The next batch will all have orange hands on black dials with black bezels and blue dials with black bezels.

The third will be PVD versions. Stay tuned for more info . . .
