From DIEVAS ' The Vortex Story ' Springing from extremely positive reception the original Dievas Flieger Timer pilot watch received, Dievas Watch Company went on the exact route of cumulating the highest engineering specifications and product design to present the Vortex, a term synonymous with aero and fluid dynamics consummating an integral part of flight and aircraft design. On a quick glace, allowances should be made for casual onlookers to be exonerated for assuming the multi purpose Dievas Vortex to be merely another pilot watch.
In actual fact this is much more. This is a watch designed as a precise time keeping instrument for currently active military, security and rescue personnel, overbuilt to withstand harsh conditions on land, sea and air. Focusing primarily on attention to detail, the watch is powered by the ever so reliable and proven Swiss automatic 28,000bhp mechanical automatic movement, ETA-2824-2, each adjusted to its maximum efficiency for the most accurate time by our experienced watchmakers.

The watch case is manufactured using aerospace grade titanium, fabricated entirely in Germany, utilizing modern advanced CNC technology. The unsurpassed superlative quality is evidently portrayed by the well defined, clean lines and perfectly finished edges throughout the case. Measuring a 44mm wide and 15mm thick, it adheres to a compromise between the demands of a traditional watch aficionados and the military man on his specialized job.
Complying with the designation of a robust utility watch, we supplemented the case with a sturdy, precise, exact 60-click timing bezel, increased the water resistant to withstand a professional dive watch worthy 500metres and in excess, added an automatic Helium Release Valve (HEV) just in case the task ahead requires one to undergo saturation diving. A double O-ring 8mm screw down crown occupies the lower left hand corner for easy time adjustments.
The surface is sealed with a 4mm thick blemish-free Swiss grade dome sapphire crystal that is treated with military grade anti-reflective coating for improved readability. On the opposite end, twin gaskets screw down solid caseback watertight the watch from the underside. The caseback engraving displays an artistic interpretation of turbulent spiral motion in a vortex.

Undoubtedly, the watch dial accentuate the pilot theme of the Dievas Vortex. Early in the design stage it was decided that since the watch will be preferred and put to use as accurate timing instrument by military personnel, only a less unorthodox, no-nonsense, uncluttered and highly legible design is deem fitting. As such, large, oversized Arabic alphabets 1-12 are set with 60 minute increments meticulously marked. The 3 and 9o’clock exaggerated markers together with the upright triangle at 12 shows design traits symbolizing the artificial horizon, an essential cockpit flight instrument.
Quality vintage pilot watch style watch hands are chosen to complete the look. Copious amount of Swiss super luminous are applied over all the minute markers and hands enabling them to glow to a consistent bright greenish blue lume in low light conditions.
Accompanying the watch is a matching luxurious Dievas waterproof genuine leather strap. All the straps are made using the best Italian leather and tested for water resistance suitable for use in all conditions.
