LINDE WERDELIN SpidoLite

Linde Werdelin will be releasing their latest creation at Basel World 2009. The SpidoLite has a Skeletonized titanium case and is water-resistant to 300m. Whilst it's not strictly a diver it has been designed to be used in conjunction with Linde Werdelin's Sea Instrument.

Although a little unusual in its appearance it is unmistakably a Linde Wedelin and reflects the sporting, adventurous spirit of the company co-founded by professional mountaineers Morton Linde and Jorn Werdelin.

Something that may be of interest for horologically minded is Linde Werdelin’s collaboration with watch maker Svend Anderson who has re-tweaked a NOS 1970's automatic movement for the piece, which can be viewed through its sapphire crystal case-back or through the skeletonized portions of the dial.

For fans of Linde Werdelin stay tuned for some sneak-peek renderings of the latest version of the Linde Werdelin Sea Instrument, the 'Reef' as well as (and you heard it hear first) a new diver named the 'Oktopus'. I am pleased to say that my friends at LW will be releasing info on the 'Oktopus' to OceanicTime for publication, first.

The Spidolite series will be available in three variations of all titanium, titanium with black DLC coating and yellow coated sapphire crystal and titanium with skeleton dial and will be limited worldwide to 222, 44 and 44 pieces respectively.

Linde Werdelin is constantly at the forefront of innovation releasing six new models in limited series every year. The launch of the Spidolite also signals the beginning of Linde Werdelin’s collaboration with independent watchmakers whereby every year a new movement will be introduced for one new limited model.
