Zinex Watch Company has already had two very successful dive watch releases; the 'Nitrox' and most recently the 'Trimex'. Both are amazing divers in terms of design, specifications and value for money. If the 'Heliox' is even half as successful as its predesessors were, it will be another huge hit.
The 'Nitrox' is depth rated to a very respectable 500m and the 'Trimex' is rated to an amazing 2000 meters. Now Zinex plans to take us even deeper, down to 2500m, where the 'Heliox's only other diving companion will be the Panerai Luminor Submersible 2500m (PAM00194). This will put the 'Heliox' in the top ten mechanical wristwatches with the highest depth ratings.
I love the submarine design that has been incorporated into the dial and caseback, another nice touch that we have come to expect from Zinex, and i'm a huge fan of vintage styling. Great work again, Joe, looking forward to more updtaes.
Below are CAD renderings of two types of dial, hand set, and bezel designs proposed for the 'Heliox'.

From Joe of Zinex Watch Company: Here is the latest development, we have completed the first stage of design for prototyping the special cushion hooded case, the SUPER SUB" HELIOX" will follow the technical foot step of our current offering the Trimix Deep Diver, with further design advancement and development on WR specification and MF resistant.
We have now designed and added components to pass significant antimagnetic rating capabilities. 'HELIOX' will be offered in pure Diver format dial layout. We are evaluating two styles of cases. However, the final design on bezel, dial layout and hands were completed as of few weeks ago, we will be also offering a minute count down style bezel for those who wish.
When we set out to design and build the “HELIOX” Super Sub we wanted to develop a vintage design cushion case deep dive watch, that was very popular during the 60’s and 70’s which was offered on some legendary dive watches, with a brushed finish case, a bold bezel and clean dial layout. The 'HELIOX Super Sub' will deliver the vintage look with the latest modern technology in manufacturing, and updated features.
Similar to our Trimix Deep diver, the unique case was designed and engineered in-house by Zinex. We are increasing the WR rating to 250 Bar, also in order to maintain further accuracy of Swiss ETA regulated 2824-2 we are using special coatings and materials on dial and further components to protect the movement housing against MF effect to meet certain military specification.
Further engineering specifications, pricing and other information, will be announced in the up coming weeks. As always 'HELIOX' will be tested in our pressure chamber and in real world extreme depth conditions. Release date is in spring-summer of 2009.
