PANERAI Luminor Marina Carbotech™ BLU NOTTE

Panerai’s Carbotech, a high-tech composite material based on carbon fiber takes on one of the Italian brand’s most historic silhouettes in this hot new model. This is the Luminor Marina Carbotech™ Blu Notte AKA PAM01664 from Panerai. It boasts a 44mm case made from Panerai’s Carbotech. In addition this ultra-lightweight, tough material has also been used for the watch’s fixed bezel as well as the Luminor Marina’s signature crown guard with Panerai trademark locking system. Meanwhile as its Blu Notte name suggest it is one of those special edition models featuring a sun-brushed night blue dial. Powering the watch is an automatic mechanical, P.9010 caliber, which has been executed entirely by the Panerai Manufacture. Spec. of the P.9010 which comprises of 200 components includes: 13¾ lignes, 6mm thick, 31 jewels, Glucydur® balance, 28,800vph, Incabloc® anti-shock device, a power-reserve of 3 days and twin barrels. The movement is protected by a solid Titanium case-back with a DLC (diamond like carbon) coating. Water-resistance is 300m.

The watch comes on a 24mm, dark blue alligator strap with tone on tone but could be paired with any number of straps like this Panerai embossed rubber diver’s strap.

MSRP is 13’900USD.

Thoughts? As far as I’m concerned, this watch has it all: exclusivity, classic good looks, plenty of substance thanks to that Carbotech case, a reasonable diameter (for a Panerai) and an in-house movement.

What do you think?

  1. In house movement from Panerai are not as reliable like ETA.Actually the old ones are better sold preowned than new ones!
