CRAFTER BLUE Blue Hyperion Ocean CHRONOGRAPH

Crafter Blue once again answers the call of the ocean with yet ANOTHER stand out new nautical model. Following 2020’s model of the same name the Crafter Blue brand has introduced a stunning new diving chronograph to their line-up. The Crafter Blue brand is well-known for its high-quality rubber watch straps but has also been making a name for itself with its wristwatches. Largely focused on producing high-end diver’s models, their timepieces are worn by ocean explorers, oceanographers, and underwater photographers. The latest addition to their product line, the Blue Hyperion Ocean Chronograph is offered in two striking looks that play with contrast, colour and even texture as seen with the dial of the black version. Both models come with sub-dials at 3 and 9 o’clock. The white dial makes a dramatic statement with its mix of black and orange indexes and has the most potential for legibility. Meanwhile the black variant offers a more premium feel with its 3D waffle-pattern dial. Diver’s features include: a unidirectional rotational diver’s bezel with a ceramic inlay, a screw-down case-back and crown. Water-resistance is 200m. Powering the watch is a reliable Seiko NE86 Chronograph movement with stop-seconds function, a beat-rate of 28,800vph and a chronograph function with a vertical clutch and column wheel. The watches 42mm in diameter Stainless steel case is offered on a Stainless steel link bracelet with an adjustable clasp or one of Crafter Blue’s premium quality diver’s straps. The new Blue Hyperion Ocean Chronograph is currently available with a special PRE-ORDER price of 1’100USD.

Thoughts? At first glance you can’t help but compare the Blue Hyperion Ocean Chronograph’s silhouette to that of a Planet Ocean Chronograph;

however your gaze is soon drawn to the dial which engages with its clever use of contrast and colour. Of the two the white dial is the clear winner but what are your thoughts?
