Compressor case divers are a little like London buses, you wait ages for one then two come along at the same time.
I might have used that line the other day but we were literally only looking at the new Archimèdes by MILUS a week or so ago, and up pops another.
Besides Dan Henry’s Diver 1970 there just aren’t that many affordable compressor offerings on the market right now, so here’s one.
This is the Marnaut Seascape 200, designed and engineered in Croatia, it joins the Dark Surge another vintage inspired diver from the brand.
Both collections offer three variants: 2x Stainless steel and 1x Steel with a black IP coating.
The Seascape is water-resistant to 200m while the Dark Surge with its more rugged build has a 300m depth rating.
Both models offer automatic movements as quirkily printed on their dials like this “AUTO MATIC”. Powering the Dark Surge is a hacking Japanese Miyota 9015 auto.
All dials are offered exclusively in black enamel. These are inspired Sea Urchins and so boast multiple metal markers which are all coated in Swiss C3 Super-LumiNova.
The Dark Surge is available to order, now and is priced from 549USD while the Seascape can be pre-ordered for a June delivery and is priced from 449USD.
There is a load more info. available from the Marnaut site (link embedded in logo, below) including a full list of specifications plus a cool video.
Thoughts? It is true that compressor cased diver’s are few and far between but I prefer the looks of the Dark Surge with its serpent head hands etc. Love the ominous name, too.
The Sea Urchin inspired dial markers are also pretty cool; it’s nice to see something new! What do you think; which one would you order?
