Triton has added another model to their SUBPHOTIQUE family. This is the Subphotique Heritage Ref. TA-BSCAGOM, a tribute to the Triton Spirotechnique from 1963.
BTW 1963 also so the birth of Favre-Leuba’s Deep Blue, the Jenny brand, the Yema SUPERMAN, the ZRC GF300, Stowa Watches as well as the first ever diver from Oris which went on to inspire their popular Divers SIXTY-FIVE.
Special features of the Heritage model include: Old Radium-style SuperLumiNova which can be found on the hands and hours of the gilt dial.
The lume which has been applied by hand certainly enhances the Subphotique’s vintage aesthetic. But what do you think of the white date window?
It looks odd to me because it doesn’t match up with the hour markers. If the date wheel couldn’t easily have been modified to match the hours it could have at least been done in black.
BTW the date wheel disc of the Triton Subphotique is a Roulette-Type, featuring red odd numbers and black even numbers, for optimal legibility.
The Subphotique Heritage comes with a choice of textile, rubber or Stainless steel strap / bracelet options.
Thoughts? I want to like this a lot more than I do? The problem is ZRC offers so much more in terms of diving technologies and overall style plus they are far more reasonably priced.
Also, H2O released the lovely TIBURON last year which offers a similar style but is ultimately better looking imo, better priced and is now available in BRONZE.
