ZRC Grand Fonds VINTAGE 1964 Spirit Bronze BLUE & GREEN

Go BRONZE or go home!

Geneva-based, ZRC has released these two new exclusive editions that will join the Grands Fonds Vintage 1964 Spirit Bronze, released last spring.

Crafted in the same noble metal and adorned with colored dials set off with fine stripes, these two beauties form part of a small series of just 80 pieces.

Ref. GF44125 with its blue dial combining cobalt and Klein, with a subtle denim effect – its matching blue bezel and hand-stitched strap is a Limited Edition of 50 pieces –

while ref. GF44135 with its Emerald green dial, matching diver’s bezel inlay and hand-stitched, colored leather strap is available as Limited Edition of just 30 examples.

ZRC’s debut bronze diver, the 1964 Spirit Bronze is based (as these are) on the famous GF 300, officially approved by the French Navy in 1964 and reissued in 2015.

The 1964 Spirit Bronze comes with a 40.5mm in diameter mono-block case, tested for immersions down to a depth of 1000m and equipped with a crown at 6 o’clock.

It benefits from two ZRC’s proprietary diver’s watch technologies such as their Crown Protection System TM.

This prevents the foldable-lug adorned strap from repositioning itself if the crown is not correctly screwed down –

and ECSTM (Easy Clean System) which cleans the inside of the unidirectional revolving bezel by enabling fresh water to flow freely inside and remove the sea salt.

The custom-machined bronze cases of this vibrantly-colored duo are topped with a unidirectional revolving bezel matching the dials and the leather straps.

The watches are powered by ETA “Elaborated” 2824-2 movement adjusted to +7 sec (± 7 sec/day) = from 0 to 14 sec/day.

Thoughts? The original 1964 Spirit Bronze with its special dusky dial was released in a 170 piece LE. All were quickly snapped up by collectors.

I would imagine that these will be an even hotter item. Both of them are equally appealing but if I had choose one, I’d pick green – no, blue – green, it would have to green, but blue is so nice, too! How bout’ you?
