I think the first thing to say about these new diving chronographs from Seiko Prospex, is that I haven’t got a Scooby Doo what they’re officially called or should be referred to as –
I wanna’ say meet the all-new Sumo Chrono? Should be about right ;)
Well at least I know the JP refs. which are as follows: the black dial and bezel with steel bracelet variant is SBDL061 while the blue dial and bezel with black rubber is SBDL063.
SBDL061 has an MSRP of 71,000 JPY+TAX, SBDL063 comes in at 66,000 JPY+TAX.
I don’t imagine that these will be Japanese exclusive models – but they will likely get their US and Europe release early next year – not at Baselworld cos’ Seiko are the latest big name to pullout.
Basic specs. are as follows: a Stainless steel case measuring: H51.6mm × W44.5mm × D13.65mm. The case is fitted with a Sapphire crystal but DiaShield is not mentioned. Water-resistance is 200m.
Power comes from a Seiko V192 Solar caliber with an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. The hands and markers are with Seiko LumiBrite.
Functions and features include: display function of resuming electric power generation, 24-hour hand, sub seconds, overcharge prevention, date and a chronograph up to 60 minutes in 1/5 second increments.
STOP WHALING in JAPAN
