Nemo Point, a position in the South Pacific off the coast of Chile, named after author Jules Verne’s seafaring captain, is quite literally in the middle of nowhere.
It is the inspiration for a new Limited Edition version of UN’s Chronometer 44MM – the Diver X Nemo Point.
Ulysse Nardin has refocused its attention towards the Diver Chronometer 44MM which it will release in 3X Limited Editions of 300 pieces for 2020.
UN has literally gone insane for the letter “X” which they have incorporated into all their marketing spiel and unsurprisingly, even directly into some new models.
The UN brand wants you (yes, you sat on the sofa with your Macchiato) to experience, explore and get generally excited about a new extension of their existing brand that has the X factor.
Not an unknown quantity, but in this instance “X” as in extreme as these models are inspired by three extreme points on the globe.
BTW all Diver X models are distinguished by a large “X” which has been proudly slapped into the middle of the dial where it (actually quite nicely) integrates into the overall design.
This is the new dolphin-friendly Diver X Nemo Point. Its 44mm Titanium case has a water-resistance of 300m. The case of each Diver X timepiece is individually numbered on the side.
Power comes from a Ulysse Nardin in-house caliber UN-118, an automatic COSC-Certified Chronometer.
The Diver X Nemo Point Limited Edition has a blue fabric strap with red lining kinda’ like the leash on a surfboard.
The closing catch is made with cutting-edge technology. Special features include: a blue rubber bezel and instantly recognizable “X” on the face.
The geographical coordinates of Nemo Point [48°52.00′S x 123°23.00′W] as well as the route of the Vendée Globe race are stamped on the back of each watch.
Its MSRP is 8’900USD. Thoughts? My favorite of the three – how ‘bout you?
