Here’s some more STRAP news for that will have Sinners flexing!
Sinn remedies a situation that many divers are familiar with: your kit is ready, everything has been checked and you’re all set to dive.
But you are now missing a dive watch which you’ll use an additional backup instrument for monitoring dive-time as well as decompression time. The problem?
Your dive watch needs to be worn over your wetsuit. However the fact remains that the length of your rubber strap is typically adjusted for wear directly on the wrist with regular diver-extensions usually being sorely inadequate for the necessary additional strap length required to fit over your wetsuit.
In steps Sinn’s new DUOFLEX Diving Watch Strap System which allows for a quick and easy change of your rubber diver’s strap before the dive - which would be of huge benefit at this point.
Firstly, because the diver wants the ability to monitor dive-time intervals, and secondly because he doesn’t want to fiddle around with a strap-changing tool etc. while on the dive boat, in order to do a complete strap swap.
Lastly, there isn’t always sufficient space on a dive boat, quite apart from the possibility of losing parts.
So what is required? The ability to adjust the rubber strap on your dive watch easily and without any stress or the need to spend additional time in preparation.
Simply put, the diver needs a dive watch with a strap system that can be adjusted as quickly as possible adapting to different conditions, such as increased wrist diameter from wearing a wetsuit.
With Sinn’s quick-adjustment strap system as one of the components of the new DuoFlex, this adjustment can be made instantly. The necessary extension is ensured by means of an easy swap over to a rubber strap with an appropriate length.
To remove the strap, simply fold up both halves of the rubber strap one after the other and pull them outwards at the side.
A special case adapter ensures a smooth fitting in all U models with a 44mm diameter. In this way, you can attach the longer rubber strap to the watch quickly and without any tools.
With this technology, an easy swap over from your daily strap to your diving strap is possible. Worn on the wrist, the system can withstand the same tensile force as a rubber strap that is usually fitted to the case with spring bars.
The new quick-adjustment strap system therefore offers an extremely easy strap replacement mechanism, which is also extremely useful to you in everyday life, when you are not out diving.
For example, in answer to the question: a red rubber strap? Or would you prefer a green rubber strap?
Thanks to the quick-adjustment strap system, you can change the rubber strap to suit a specific any occasion in mere seconds. Capeesh!
