GRAHAM Chronofighter PRODIVE

By TLex Graham of London have released the PRODIVE, which was previewed here in March. The finished watch looks pretty special. Quite sleek for a Graham really. Their signature chrono trigger fits much closer to the watch case and is so a lot less hand-grenade like! It has been designed to be easily used with a divers glove, too.



There's plenty of other evidence of Graham DNA; it's not too dissimilar to the Oversize Chronofighter DIVER either, yet it is a far more evolved dive watch both technically and aesthetically. Diving features include: screwdown yellow rubber crown, screwdown 'shark' engraved caseback, sapphire crystal with AR, 600m of water-resistance and a Helium Escape Valve. The watch is available with three dial / strap combos.

GRAHAM Chronofighter Oversize PRODIVE Professional

By TLex GRAHAM of London are set to release a new 200 piece Limited Edition Professional divers watch, the Chronfighter Oversize PRODIVE. This incredible new dive watch is not a huge departure from Graham's existing Chronofighter Oversize DIVER, which isn't an obvious choice for a divers model owing to its signature chrono lever and pusher that protrude from the side of its case, something that GRAHAM have somewhat addressed in the new PRODIVE (read on), but is a watch that takes itself far more seriously as a diver than its sibling does.

More the utilitarian diving tool the new Chronofighter Oversize PRODIVE has a more ergonomic and sleeker form. GRAHAM seem to have gone back to the drawing board with this new model, and I wouldn't be surprised if they hadn't consulted with some real divers this time. Features such as its 120-click unidirectional rotational divers bezel have been enhanced with a special pattern allowing for better grip when manipulating with a divers glove, and features such as GRAHAM's signature patented Chrono Lever have been streamlined to fit a bit closer to the case and as such is a little less likely to interfere with a divers gear.

The watch's Stainless steel case, which measures just 45mm (as opposed 47mm) is fitted with a domed sapphire crystal. It has anti-reflective coating on both sides. At 600 meters, the PRODIVE has twice the water-resistance of it predecessor and like it, is equipped with the ubiquitous Helium Expansion Valve. 

A really cool feature of the Chronofighter Oversize PRODIVE is that it for the first time is equipped with a new patented start/stop/reset mechanism which allows the watch's chronograph function to be used even whilst underwater. This new function is operable via a sporty yellow rubber crown with an automatic locking system (bayonet) and a red safety ring which triggers the crown unlocking.

As illustrated by the renderings GRAHAM have produced a very attractive looking divers model. It is far more becoming of a professional diving instrument and more evocative of the ocean. I love the new wider lugs and integrated rubber strap. The shark engraved case back is supremely cool and the splashes of yellow on the dial are fitting.

I only have two minor quibbles, why only 200 pieces and why not 47mm? Perhaps we’ll see a PRODIVE II one day with a larger case and even more diving features . . .

GRAHAM Chronofighter Oversize Diver (going to great depths)

From GRAHAM London GRAHAM goes to great depths to create its new diver's watch - As any diver will tell you, as you descend below 250 feet you enter the so-called twilight zone where the light becomes faint. Here, bio-luminescent creatures live and do their stuff, along with many other weird and wonderful creatures too.

For any serious diver this is a great place to explore, and that is why GRAHAM has designed a professional watch especially for these depths.





So here is the Chronofighter Oversize Diver’s watch, with its sapphire crystal with double-sided anti-reflective coating, which will help you track time in this amazing environment. The watch is 47 mm in diameter, resistant to 1000 feet / 330 metres and designed around the needs of the professional diver.

The professional diver usually requires a built-in helium escape valve, which allows for a prolonged deep water trip. Needless to say this features on the Chronofighter too. When coming up from the depths after days in a diving chamber breathing Trimix or Heliox (a special divers gas for deep water work), this valve will equalise the pressure difference between the trapped gases inside the case and the surface.





Helium, as you may know, is the world’s second smallest molecule, it will inevitably find its way into your watch if you spend some time in a diving chamber. The solution to this is to include a pressure release valve integrated into the 2 o’clock part of the case. But pressure isn’t the only consideration behind the design of this watch.

A dial as bright as a firefly squid - The Super-LumiNova coating on the dial and hands will also help you read time in the dark, as clearly as you can see a firefly squid.





Even with diver gloves on, the use of the trigger to activate the stop watch is dead easy and intuitive. The same goes for the unidirectional rotating bezel for measuring dive and decompression time.

Elegant and with a nod to fashion, it still is the same professional divers’ watch. Whichever watch you choose, it should make as big a splash when you go out to dinner, as when you tilt backwards and begin a deep water dive into the deep.

GRAHAM Chronofighter PRODIVE Black & GOLD

By TLex Graham have released a striking new Black & Gold version of their 600 meter PRODIVE diving chrono. The aptly named new Prodive Black & Gold Ref. 2CDAZ.B04A has been produced in a Limited Edition of 250 pieces.

Its 45mm case is in Stainless steel case with a black DLC coating (diamond-like carbon). Special features include an integrated fast-action trigger (for activating start, stop and reset of the chronograph) in 18k Gold. The chrono is functional even at 600 meters.



Also in 18k Gold is an automatic Helium Escape Valve at 9 o'clock on the left side of the case and the crown, which features an automatic locking system (bayonet) and red safety ring.

By TLex Apart from its sleek black DLC coating this newest version of the Prodiver also boasts a prominent new orange arrowhead chrono-indictor in the counter at 7 o'clock as well as a new propeller-shaped seconds counter at 4.



Like the Black Gold edition that I showed yesterday, this watch features Graham's newly developed diving mono-pusher chronograph operable via the lever on the left side of the case.

This trigger has been completely re-engineered so that it is the only control pusher of the chronograph start/stop and reset. It is made of steel with a DLC treatment, and is said to be super easy to use and activate the chrono's functions.
