When a team of Swiss watch engineers set about creating a WATCH that could showcase an unprecedented degree of impermeability.
They could only imagine that seven decades on a spiritual successor of their revered creation previously only ever worn on the side of a deep sea submersible would continue to be admired, enjoyed and worn (perhaps as they had never intended) on a man’s wrist.
They probably could not imagine that their depth-defying creation, an exotic design in itself, would be fused with even more exotic materials such as those whose origins hail from feudal Japan.

In addition to the classic dial that the CH1 has now worn for a decade or more, a new California style dial layout with bronze indexes and a train-track minutes running around its perimeter is also offered for this special Mokume Gane edition.
Otherwise it's business as usual for this unusual wristwatch with a case diameter of just 43mm, a lug to lug measurement of 57mm and a height of 25.25mm that takes into account the CH1’s breathtaking domed sapphire crystal.
Whose highly convexed design casts a magical spell upon the dial causing the same kind of dramatic distortions that you get when viewing objects immersed in deep water.

H2O KALMAR CHRONOGRAPH in BRONZE or STEEL [tougher than your average chronograph]
Why use an egg timer when you can use a hammer!
This is the Kalmar Chronograph from H2O Watch, Germany and it just might just change your perception of a sports chronograph should or could be.
The part diver’s watch part tunnel boring machine has been built like a, well a tunnel boring machine comes to mind but that's not to say that it isn't refined because it is.
Made from high-grade 316L Stainless steel or CuSn8 Bronze alloy the Kalmar Chronograph is powered by Swiss made ETA 7750 automatic chronograph movement with a beat-rate of 28800bph.
The watch's time, date and all chronograph readings can be found on a stunning gloss black to ink-blue graduated dial with a traditional tri-compax layout with the date at 3 o’clock.
The dial is covered with a thick, domed sapphire crystal glass, and wrapped around this sat atop the case is a stunning CNC-machined turbine-style unidirectional diver's bezel with a sumptuous black inlay.
The turbine bezel looks like it bore or hole through time and space but in the real world it offers exceptional ergonomics.
As well as a dazzling interplay of light and shadows when the light catches it just right, which is pretty much from any angle.
Further features of the Kalmar Chronograph’s case include a solid closed case-back, a screw-down crown and chrono-pushers allowing for up to 1,000 meters of water-resistance.
It's completely black 1,000 meters below the surface, which is likely even darker than most bedrooms but this is no problem for the Kalmar Chronograph.
All of its hands, a dial markers have been generously filled with brightly glowing BGW9 Swiss SuperLuminova which emits a strong blue light in the dark.
Dimensions of the Kalmar Chronograph while by no means meager remain more than manageable for most wrist sizes.
Its main case has a diameter of 43mm while the bezel measures 44mm. It's lug to lug measurement is 52mm while the lug width is 22mm. Its total height is 17.5mm.
The Kalmar Chronograph comes with a handmade calfskin strap and CNC-machined H2O buckle but is offered with an optional solid steel bracelet with a diver's safety clasp.
