SEIKO Prospex Diver Scuba SOLAR x LOWERCASE

This is one seriously trendy Seiko diver - the LOWERCASE-produced Seiko Prospex Diver Scuba Solar has been created under the supervision of well-known brand consultants, LOWERCASE’s creative director, Kajiwara Yukarikei.

The watch comes off the back of a 400 piece Limited Edition Seiko dive watch made for NYC-based FSC’s collaboration with Yoshikage Kajiwara.

Like that model a number of vintage elements have been borrowed from the original 1975 model that first used its iconic shrouded case; however the watch has been designed to be a little more wearable.

The SEIKO Prospex Diver Scuba SOLAR is a Limited Edition of 3000 pieces – in five variants shown here. That blue and gold version is sexy enough to rub over my naked body! [my apologies for putting that images in your head]

Its case constructed with an inner-stainless steel module while with an outer casing in hardened plastic. It is fitted with a curved crystal.

Its functions include an overcharge prevention function as well as a quick-start function. Further features of the watch include: hands and dial markers with Seiko LumiBrite.

Divers features include: 200m of water-resistance making it suitable for scuba-diving, anti-magnetic-resistance, a one-way bezel, a screw down crown and caseback and a double-locking divers clasp with a push button release.

The watch case has a height of 45.5mm, width of 45.9mm and depth of just 12.1mm. It total weight is 155g.

Power comes from a Solar-driven Driving system, the Seiko Caliber V147 which has an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month.

SPINNAKER Hass DIVER

Here’s a vintage inspired diver – aptly named after the legendary Austrian marine biologist and scuba-diving pioneer, Hans Hass who was known for being one of the first scientists to popularise sharks. Like his contemporary, Jacques-Yves Cousteau, he was also a pioneer in the field of underwater filmmaking.

The Hass Diver’s 43mm case has been constructed from 316 L Marine Grade Stainless steel with a brushed finish – on the left lateral side you’ll find a rather nice feature – an engraved Spinnaker logo while an old school unguarded crown sits in the middle of the right side.

The case is water-resistant to 200 meters and is equipped with: hardened mineral crystal, a unidirectional rotational divers bezel with a Hardlex crystal inlay and 15min. dive-time-scale, and an exhibition caseback that affords a view of the movement, below with its custom blue Spinnaker rotor – the 21 jewel, Japanese made Miyota 9015 cal.

A textured dial is available in black or white with Swiss SuperLumiNova applied 3D markers and hour and minute hands. A sub-seconds display can be found at 4 o’clock and 24hr at 9- deliberately placed to gain maximum legibility of dive-time while in operation.

Strapped with a water-resistant strap and packaged in a custom rugged wooden box the Hass Diver pays homage to its namesake. It is priced 450USD.

I must admit, I know very little about Spinnaker Watches, they tagged me in photo on Instagram, so I checked them out along with their watches and a number of bikini-clad babes - like them, the Hass Diver is an attractive-looking model!

SINN 240 C

I think this is more of a military watch than a proper diver but I thought you guys might find it interesting.

It’s a special limited edition of 100 pieces of Sinn’s 240 C in a highly unique design made in collaboration with the specialist watch magazine, Chronos published by Ebner Verlag.

Its classic design is based on traditional styles, further underscored by its silver electroplated rotational timing-bezel and its sanitized 43mm case with polished sides. The 240 C boasts a number of unique characteristics that distinguish it as a SINN watch.

Most notably is its internal bezel with a 12-hour display, which facilitates the recording of time and can also be used to display a second time-zone. Excellent readability, even at night, is ensured by the luminous hands and markers.

The 240 C’s two crowns are equipped with the Sinn-developed D3-System - where the crown shaft is mounted directly in a finely finished case aperture, creating a perfect seal to the case (the name D3 comes from the German direkt doppelt dichtend, meaning direct double sealing).

The 240 C also features the date and weekday, which can be displayed in German or English simply by adjusting the crown.

It is pressure-resistant up to 10 bar - meeting the technical requirements for waterproofness, as set out in standard DIN 8310.

In addition to this the 240 C features include: a Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective on both sides, is low pressure resistance, shock-resistant as per DIN 8308 and anti-magnetic as per DIN 8309.

CHRIS BENZ Defense KOMMANDO Diver

This is a pretty cool looking little tactical diver – nothing too flash, but an affordable high-precision timepiece that was developed by Chris Benz for tactical defence operations and one which has been successfully tested by operational forces and special units worldwide.

Its hands and markers have been covered with CB’s highly luminescent “CHRIS BENZ Safety Lighting System” while its jet-black dial with its German-like orderly arrangement and minimalist markings should provide excellent, intuitive readability, even in the harshest of lighting conditions.

Its robust case is made from marine-grade Stainless steel and is fitted with a screwdown caseback and crown, an extremely scratch-resistant, anti-reflective Sapphire crystal on both sides, a rotatable divers bezel, a Helium Escape Valve and is waterproof down to depths of 1000 m/100 bar.

The Kommando Diver features a non-reflective, matte PVD coating in deep black for that desirable tactical look. It functions reliably thanks to its high-quality, accurate quartz movement with an extra-long battery life of up to 3 years.

It comes on high-quality durable rubber divers strap with printed KOMANDO DIVER label and black buckle as well as proven ZULU Ballistic nylon strap with black rings and black buckle in a set – priced 375 €.

TUTIMA M2 Seven SEAS

It’s been a while, but finally here’s a new dedicated divers model from Tutima Glashütte; the new M2 Seven Seas has case made of pure Titanium, a 3mm-thick Sapphire crystal with antireflective treatment on both sides to assure maximal legibility,

a screwdown crown and caseback, a unidirectional rotational divers bezel and high pressure-resistance up to 50 bar, the equivalent of 500 meters of water-resistance.

The M2 Seven Seas has been released in response to frequent requests for a three-handed self-winding model for the M2 Military chronograph family. It is powered by a calibre T 330, automatic movement with a custom Tutima rotor in antique grey with 750 gold seal. In addition to a date display, this movement also powers a day-of-the-week indicator.

The M2 Seven Sea’s dial comes in either deep blue or matt black with white luminous markers and hands. I absolutely love the dial – super clean, super simple – ever so German but would have thought the seconds indicator should be also be lumed.

Finally, the new M2 Seven Seas comes on a pure Titanium bracelet Ref. 6151-04, or as an alternative to this tough Titanium bracelet, a sturdy highly-resistant Kevlar strap Re. 6151-04 is also offered. No word on pricing at the moment.
