LIMES Endurance II NEPTUN Diver [NEW]

LIMES have just completed a newly, redesigned version of their Endurance II Neptun Diver!

The Endurance II has a shiny new set of polished hands with an increased surface area allowing for a bigger application of SuperLuminova –

thus creating a greater contrast against its matte black or blue dial and in turn allowing for better readability when it counts!

However, with its proven track record, ICKLER’s robust diver case construction remains unchanged and for good reason;

Ickler dive watch cases are amongst the best that there are in terms of how they are engineered.

The case has though, received some new cosmetic enhancements such as a combination brushed and polished finish giving it sportier but ultimately more luxurious feel.

The new 2016 Endurance II Neptun Diver can be ordered with either a black rubberized leather strap or Stainless steel bracelet directly from LIMES. Prices starts from EUR 960 (incl. VAT), EUR 806,72 (without VAT).

DAMASKO DSub1

Damasko have made their first ever divers watch – it’s called the DSub1, it’s due for release early 2017 and looks like a proper German tool-diver!

Its 42mm by 12.8mm case is built from the same sort of hardened German submarine steel that Sinn use, so benefits from the same high-level of saltwater corrosion resistance and magnetic resistance.

It also boasts a couple of impressive technologies such as its self-lubricating crown with hardened tube system and patented ceramic-ball divers bezel. It is water-resistant to 300 meters.

The DSub1’s dial is in a vivid matte blue with contrasting orange elements and Plongeur-style minute-hand (bit predictable that!).

Power will come from a Swiss made ETA 2824-2. MSRP TBA.

Divers features include: screw-down caseback, an inner rotatable divers bezel operable via the crown at 2 o’clock and a water-resistance of 200m.

Special features include: cross-hating on the crowns, a Sapphire coated double domed mineral crystal with anti-reflective treatment and a caseback with a 3D Scaphtopus medal.

Power comes from an automatic Seiko Caliber NH35 with 24 jewels and a power reserve of 41hrs. Time and date adjustments are made via the crown at 4 o’clock.

There are two versions available – one all black and the other black with an orange chapter-ring.

The Dan Henry 1970 comes on a tropic-style silicone divers strap priced 250USD. It is Limited to 1970 pieces.

For 250USD this is a pretty nice watch. I’m especially digging the caseback engraving with the Octopus wearing the divers helmet – so cool!

Andersmann DEEP OCEAN

If there’s one thing we like more than dive watches at OceanicTime, it’s deep divers, that is to say, dive watches with high-levels of water-resistance.

This is the latest to join their ranks, the new Deep Ocean from Andersmann, a mechanical wristwatch with a water-resistance of 3000 meters.

And while 3000 meters of water-resistance is no mean feat. , the Deep Ocean is so much more than its depth-rating; it is the sum of a whole host of carefully and tastefully chosen parts and spec.

Grade 5 Titanium has been used for the Deep Ocean’s case and its components. When you buy a dive watch that says it's made from Titanium, unless otherwise stated - it is most likely only Grade 2,

and when you’re told that Grade 2 was specifically chosen for its aesthetic appeal – well that’s most like a load of old cobblers.

Grade 5 is far more durable than other grades of Titanium, and as such is much more expensive to machine. Rolex chose Grade 5 for the 3900M DEEP SEA’s caseback, not Grade 2!

The Deep Ocean’s Grade 5 Titanium case has a diameter of 47mm, a thickness of 17.6mm, a lug-lug measurement of 56mm and a lug width of 26mm.

It is fitted with a G5 Ti screw-down crown, a 4.5mm thick double-domed Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a Solid Grade 5 Titanium caseback secured with 8 large hex-screws and proudly sporting a large engraved 3000M across its center,

a Helium Escape Valve at 9 o’clock signed ‘’He’’ the chemical symbol for Helium, and a unidirectional rotational divers bezel.

This divers bezel puts me in mind a little of the DWATCH OceanicTime – only rather than a simple matte finished PVD coating, it has a high-tech matte ceramic insert. It’s very nice!

Then there’ the Deep Ocean’s texturized sandwich dial that is somewhat reminiscent of the SEA HAWK II PRO, which was actually the first ever production mechanical dive watch with a 3000 meters of water-resistance.

This is complimented by an ocean-blue, lollipop-style seconds indictor and matching 3000M text – the icing on the cake!

I do like it when there’s continuity of design such as the Clous de Paris (if you’re posh or otherwise, knurled) grip used for the bezel that was carried over to the crown.

I also like the little ‘’He’’ on the Helium Valve – yes, Panerai and Omega have been doing this for some years but it’s nice to see smaller Swiss brands also paying attention to those tiny details.

Powering the Deep Ocean is a Swiss automatic movement, the ETA 2892-2A. Keeping it firmly secured to your wrist is a high-quality texturized black rubber divers strap, embossed with the Andersmann logo.

The Andersmann Deep Ocean is available to order direct from the Andersmann online store HERE, priced 2380CHF which includes FREE Worldwide Shipping and 2 additional straps; one extra rubber and one Italian leather..
