Never lose track of time at home or abroad, on dry land or beneath the sea!
German boutique sports watchmaker, Circula has expanded their popular diver’s collection to include a handsome new traveling companion, the AquaSport GMT.
With its robust, 200 meters of water-resistant this new travel diver successfully combines a refreshing design with those existing high-quality features and finishing that are already found on other models in the AquaSport line. Its captivating dial recalls the prolific 1970s when sports watchmaking was arguably at its most stylish, and boasts several sophisticated design elements that illustrate that 70s flare. These are brought to life via a precise Swiss automatic movement which has been safely housed within the AquaSport GMT’s meticulously hand-brushed finished, 40mm in diameter Stainless steel case which has been topped with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. However it is as a travel mate where this new model really shines thanks to its GMT hand and a ball-bearing gliding, bi-directional rotational GMT timing bezel with 48 clicks, allowing for three different time zones to be displayed at once. As a so-called "Office" GMT, it also has the added advantage of being able to very quickly and easily set the GMT hand as well as the date. Incased within the AquaSport GMT is a high-quality Swiss made automatic mechanical movement, the Sellita SW330-1 in Top grade. This modern, high-beat movement comes with a beat-rate of 28,800 vibrations, 25 jewels and an autonomy of up to 56-hour. The AquaSport GMT combines the design language of those iconic 1970s skin-divers with a modern color pallet that includes striking accents such as vibrant orange and green. The combination of dial and bezel inlays that made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, are available in three variants, blue and anthracite. Meanwhile night and low-light readability is guaranteed by the use of high quality Swiss Super-LumiNova® C3 X1 and BGW9. The bracelets are also true to style: the watch comes either on a solid stainless-steel bracelet in a beads-of-rice design, or on a tropical rubber strap, which were popular on the icons of the 1970s. All the AquaSport GMT’s straps come with a quick release exchange system and can thus be swapped in a matter of seconds. Like all mechanical Circula watches, the AquaSport is also built in Pforzheim Germany. The Circula AquaSport GMT can be ordered from CIRCULA’s ONLINE STORE, starting at EUR 1299 (incl. VAT) / USD ~1150 (excl. VAT) and including FREE Worldwide shipping. An additional BOR (beads of rice) Stainless steel bracelet adds a further EUR 100 (incl. VAT) / USD ~85 (excl. VAT) to the overall cost of the AquaSport GMT. In addition to the launch of the AquaSport GMT, Circula has also introduced a new variant of the 3-hand AquaSport with a green dial and bezel. This model uses the proven Sellita SW200-1 Elaboré and is available from EUR 799 (incl. VAT) / USD ~699 (excl. VAT) in the online store, just like the new SuperSport Blue, which is also available online from EUR 849 (incl. VAT) / USD ~749 (excl. VAT). Thoughts? I am totally down with these cool 70s vibes while the triple time-zone dial and bezel combo will enable globetrotters to keep an eye on the time back home as well as the next destination. But what do you think?
